Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is an Indian Multinational Crude Oil and Gas Corporation. Its registered office is presently in New Delhi, India. It's a state-owned business of the Government of India, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It's the most significant gas and oil exploration and production business in the nation. It generates around 70 percent of India's crude oil (equal to approximately 57 percent of the nation's total demand) and approximately 84 percent of its gas. At November 2010 Government of India gave the Maharatna standing.
